What are Xofluza tablets 10 mg for influenza (flu)?

In 2018, Japan's Ministry of Health granted approval to Xofluza tablets, a groundbreaking medication designed to combat influenza. Extensive clinical trials have demonstrated that a solitary dose of Xofluza can fully eradicate the influenza virus within a mere 24-hour period. This exceptional medication goes beyond merely alleviating symptoms such as fever and headache; it unequivocally eliminates both type A and type B influenza strains within a single day. Remarkably, Xofluza's usage is entirely safe and sanctioned for children.

Indications: treatment of influenza type A and type B

How to take

Adults and children at age of 12 years old or more: take 40 mg as active ingredient at a time, in a single dose. For these with body weight of 80 kg or more, take 80 mg at a time, in a single dose.

Children at age of 12 years old or less: take 40 mg at a time for these with body weight of 40 kg or more. Take 20 mg at a time for these with body weight of 20 to 40 kg and take 1 tablet (10 mg) at a time for these with body weight of 20 kg or less, respectively, in a single dose in each case.

Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use for children with body weight less than 10 kg. Patients with liver diseases should consult with their doctor before use. 

Important information

Avoid taking  dairy products, calcium-fortified beverages, or laxatives, antacids, or oral supplements containing calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, aluminum or zinc together with this medicine. 

If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
