Carbamazepine tablets 100 mg for epilepsy and trigeminal neuralgia (Tegretol)
What are Carbamazepine tablets 100 mg (Tegretol)?
Carbamazepine is an effective medicine for controlling epilepsy's focal and generalized seizures. It acts as a sodium channel breaker, binding to the inactive conformation of voltage-gated sodium channel channels. This results in the brain's excessive stimulation. Carbamazepine tablets can be used to suppress epileptic seizures and excessive tension. Studies showed that 40% of epilepsy patients were seizure-free after treatment with carbamazepine, while 30% experienced seizure relief for greater than 50% . However, this medicine does not work against myoclonic or absence seizures.
Also, Carbamazepine tablets suppress the abnormal excitation of the trigeminal nerve in the face, making them one of the most powerful medications known for treating trigeminal neuralgia.
