Tamsulosin hydrochloride tablets 0.1 mg for impaired urination, prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones (Tamdura)
What are Tamsulosin hydrochloride tablets 0.1 mg for impaired urination, prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones (Tamdura)?
Tamsulosin hydrochloride functions as a selective antagonist for alpha-1 receptors, specifically targeting those present on the prostate and urethra. Its mechanism involves inhibiting the activity of alpha-1 receptors, resulting in relaxation of the muscles in the bladder and prostate. Tamsulosin tablets yield the following outcomes:
- Facilitate the initiation of urine flow;
- Assist in addressing a weakened urinary stream;
- Diminish the frequency and urgency of urination, including nocturnal episodes;
- Support recuperation after catheter removal and deter the need for re-catheterization.
Tamsulosin hydrochloride tablets are employed to address a range of urination problems arising from prostatic hyperplasia. Additionally, this medication can aid in expelling kidney stones, shortening the expulsion duration, and alleviating pain. Notably, Tamsulosin demonstrates notable efficacy in managing ureteral stones sized between 5 and 10 mm. It also proves beneficial post-lithotripsy for stones exceeding 10 mm in size.
It's important to emphasize that Tamsulosin is not intended for the purpose of reducing an enlarged prostate. Also, its usage is not recommended as a preventive measure against prostate cancer.
