Relvar Ellipta 100 - 30 doses for inhalation (asthma, bronchitis)
What is Relvar Ellipta inhaler for preventing asthma attacks?
The Relvar inhaler is a medication that combines an anti-inflammatory synthetic corticoid and an ultra-long-acting b2 adrenoreceptor antagonist. This combination proves to be effective in preventing symptoms and attacks in patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive lung disease, and pulmonary emphysema.
The Relvar Ellipta inhaler exerts its action by providing both anti-inflammatory effects in the airways and a long-lasting bronchodilator effect through beta 2-adrenergic receptor stimulation. The inhaler's design ensures that the powder components are released simultaneously, eliminating the need to shake or perform any additional steps for mixing. Vilanterol trifenatate, the b2 adrenoceptor antagonist, has a rapid and sustained effect that lasts for a full 24 hours. It effectively relaxes the muscles of the small air passages in the lungs. Being a novel and long-acting inhaled beta2 adrenoceptor antagonist, vilanterol trifenatate is well-tolerated by healthy individuals.
When using the Relvar Ellipta, it should be taken daily for optimal effectiveness, not solely when experiencing breathing difficulties or other symptoms related to COPD and asthma. It is not suitable for immediate relief of sudden breathlessness or wheezing. Instead, its primary function is to open the airways, facilitating better airflow into and out of the lungs, thus providing preventative measures against symptoms and attacks in patients with respiratory conditions.
