Protecadin OD tablets 10 mg for gastritis and ulcer (Lafutidine, Stogar, Lafaxin)
What are Protecadin OD tablets 10 mg for gastritis and ulcer (Lafutidine Stogar, Lafaxin)?
An active principle of Protecadin OD tablets is lafutidine, a second-generation antagonist of the histamine H2 receptors. This medication is primarily designed to address issues related to stomach acid secretion and associated gastric mucosal problems. Lafutidine functions by blocking histamine H2 receptors present in the gastric mucosa, effectively reducing the production of stomach acid.
In addition to its acid-suppressing properties, Protecadin OD tablets promote the production of gastric mucus and enhance gastric mucosal blood flow, thereby safeguarding the stomach lining against potential inflammation-induced injuries. Moreover, these tablets inhibit the attachment of Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium commonly associated with gastric-related ailments, to gastric cells.
Protecadin OD tablets are effective for the treatment of gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and anastomotic gastric ulcers. Furthermore, these tablets can be utilized for the management of reflux esophagitis and other lesions in the gastric mucosa, such as erosions and bleeding. Additionally, Protecadin OD tablets can assist in the treatment of acute gastritis and chronically exacerbated gastritis. They can also be employed as part of an anesthetic preparation.
Clinical studies have demonstrated the prolonged antisecretion and healing effects of lafutidine against gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. In fact, its potency has been found to be comparable to or even superior to that of conventional H2 antagonists commonly used for such conditions.
