What are Pemirolast K tablets 10 mg for allergy and asthma (Alegysal, Alamast)?
Pemirolast potassium is an antiallergic agent and mast cell stabilizer. It works by binding the histamine H1 receptor, and blocking the action of endogenous histamine. Pemirolast tablets also inhibit the antigen-induced production of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, leukotriene D4, C4, D4, and E4 from human mast cell cells, preventing occurrence of allergy symptoms.
Pemirolast tablets prevents the development of acute allergic rhinitis or bronchial asthma symptoms. They reduce nocturnal symptoms and need of bronchodilator usage in asthma patients, improve sneezing and rhinorrhea in seasonal allergic rhinitis patients. However, this medicine is not designed for relieving symptoms or attacks that have already occurred. Pemirolast doesn't have any particular side effects or contraindications.

How to take
- For bronchial asthma in adults and children of 11 years old or more: take 1 tablet a day, 2 times a day, after meals.
- For bronchial asthma symptoms in children of 5-10 years old: take 0.5 tablets, 2 times a day, after meal.
- Do not use for bronchial asthma in children younger than 5 years old.
- For allergic rhinitis in adults: take 0.5 tablets, 2 times a day, after a meal.
Your doctor may adjust the dosage according to the symptoms, age, and disease.
Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
