What are Nilvadipine tablets 4mg for hypertension?

Nilvadipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, is used. It works by blocking calcium channels and reducing calcium inflow to cells. This stimulates blood vessel dilation. Nilvadipine tablets are effective for lowering high blood pressure.

Nilvadipine tablets are well-tolerated, safe and effective. It can be used even for patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease or type 2 diabetes. Japanese researchers have shown that nilvadipine has a significant effect on the effectiveness of angiotensin I receptor antagonist in hypertension patients whose blood pressure can't be controlled by AIIR-antagonists alone.

How to take

Adults should take 2-4 mg of active principle at a time, 2 times a day. Please note that this medicine contains 4 mg of active principle in one tablet.

Your doctor may adjust the dosage based on your age, body mass and symptoms.

Contraindications: do not use for the following patients:

• pregnant or possibly pregnant women,
• breastfeeding women,
• patients with suspected intracranial bleeding not being fully stopped,
• patients with increased intracranial hypertension as a result of acute stroke phase.
