What are Musredo tablets 75 mg for renal anemia (molidustat)?
An active principle of Musredo tablets is molidustat sodium is, a HIF prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor. It activates hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF), and increases the production of erythropoietin, which, in its turn, stimulates the production of red blood cells.
Musredo tablets are effective for increasing red blood cells count in patients with renal anemia. Studies have shown that this medicine is well-tolerated, safe, and effective even for patients who receive dialysis.

How to take
Patients with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis or untreated by erythropoiesis stimulating agents: start with 25 mg of active principle once a day, after meals. Your doctor may adjust the dose according to your symptoms. The maximum dose should not exceed 200 mg.
Patients with chronic kidney disease, but not on dialysis and switching from erythropoiesis stimulating agent: start with 25-50 mg of active principle once a day after meals. Your doctor may adjust the dose according to your symptoms. The maximum dose should not exceed 200 mg.
Patients on dialysis: start taking 75 mg of the active principle once a day, after meals. Your doctor may adjust the dose according to your symptoms. The maximum dose should not exceed 200 mg.
Please note that these tablets contain 75 mg of the active principle in one tablet.
Contraindications: do not use for the following patients:
- pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding women,
- patients with hypertension,
- patients with cerebral infarction or a history of it,
- patients with myocardial or pulmonary infarction or a history of these conditions.
Important information
Female patients should use adequate contraception while taking these tablets and within 2 weeks after completing the treatment.
Blood tests for hemoglobin levels should be performed periodically.
Patient needs to take and adequate amount of iron while taking this medicine.
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
