What are Mucosta eye drops for dry eye syndrome?
Mucosta ophthalmic solution was developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical in 2012. Its active principle is rebamipide, an amino acid derivative of quinolinone, usually used for mucosal protection. Mucosta eye drops are used for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. This medicine provides the following effects:
- increasing the production of tears,
- stabilizing tear film layer,
- reducing corneal epithelium injury,
- preventing further ocular surface damage.

How to use
Instill 1 drop at a time, 4 times a day.
Before use, hold the lower part of the container and flick your finger on the widened part to disperse the particles of suspension. Avoid touching the eye surface with the tip of the container while applying. After applying, close your eyes and press the inner corner of your eyes gently for 1-5 minutes. Wipe any excess left. If you need to use another eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between applying.
This medicine is a single use disposal preparation. Dispose of any medicine remaining in the container after use.
Contraindications: do not use for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use while wearing contact lenses.
