MOHRUS Paps XR 240 mg for pain and swelling (ketoprofen, plaster, tape)
What are MOHRUS Paps XR 240 mg for pain and swelling (ketoprofen, plaster, tape)?
Mohrus plaster with ketoprofen is a topical medication commonly employed in the management of pain and swelling associated with musculoskeletal conditions and localized inflammatory disorders. The plaster operates through a well-established mechanism of action that involves the active ingredient ketoprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ketoprofen exerts its therapeutic effects primarily by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, specifically COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid.
Prostaglandins are key mediators of inflammation and pain. By inhibiting their production, ketoprofen reduces the inflammatory response and subsequently alleviates pain and swelling at the application site. The plaster acts locally, delivering ketoprofen directly to the affected area, which minimizes systemic exposure and the risk of systemic side effects commonly associated with oral NSAID use.
The effectiveness of Mohrus plaster with ketoprofen has been demonstrated in numerous clinical studies and trials. Patients with conditions such as arthritis, sprains, strains, and localized soft tissue injuries have reported relief from pain and a reduction in swelling after using the plaster. The convenience of the topical application, along with its localized action, makes it a preferred choice for some individuals who may not tolerate or prefer not to take oral NSAIDs.
