Meloxicam tablets 10 mg for pain and inflammation (NSAAID, arthritis)
What are Meloxicam tablets 10 mg for pain and inflammation?
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is commonly prescribed for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, shoulder periarthritis, and cervical syndrome. Its mechanism of action primarily involves the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-2, which play a pivotal role in the synthesis of prostaglandins, molecules responsible for mediating pain and inflammation.
In rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, Meloxicam acts by suppressing the production of prostaglandins in affected joints. By reducing the levels of these inflammatory mediators, it helps alleviate pain, swelling, and stiffness, consequently improving joint function and overall quality of life for patients with these conditions.
Low back pain, shoulder periarthritis, and cervical syndrome are often characterized by localized inflammation and discomfort. Meloxicam's anti-inflammatory properties extend to these conditions as well, as it targets the source of inflammation in the affected tissues, leading to a reduction in pain and an improvement in the range of motion in the affected areas.
