The active principle of MAF capsules is GcMAF, a vitamin D binding protein. It occurs naturally in human body, mainly in liver, and functions as macrophage activating factor. Macrophages are the white blood cell that protects the host from infection and injury. Activating macrophages leads to drastically improving immune function of the body, helping to fight multiple diseases, including following:
- cancer and various tumors, including prostate cancer, colone cancer and breast cancer,
- HIV and AIDS,
- hepatitis B and hepatitis C,
- multiple sclerosis,
- chronic fatigue symptom,
- rheumatoid arthritis,
- autism symptoms, including child autism.
MAF capsules are also popular in Japan for healthy individuals who'd like to protect themselves from catching contagious diseases, especially for people working in public spaces or healthcare system.

This natural component doesn't have any particular contraindications and can be combined with other treatments and medications, including hormone therapy, signal transduction inhibitors, angiogenesis inhibitors, immunotherapy drugs, radiation therapy, etc.

Patient also needs to take regular blood tests for 25 hydroxy-vitamin D and calcium levels. In case of increased calcium level, vitamin D dosage may need to be reduced.
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
