What is Locoid ointment for eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis? 

Locoid ointment is a steroid topical medication for non-bacterial skin inflammations. Its active principle is hydrocortisone butyrate, a corticosteroid suppressing inflammation and reducing redness, swelling and itch. Locoid ointment is effective for the treatment of eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and allergic skin inflammations.

How to use

Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area 1-3 times a day. Pay a special attention for areas covered with diaper, for this area, follow the instructions of your doctor. 

Contraindications: do not use for the following patients:

• pregnant or breastfeeding women,
• patients with skin infections caused by bacteria or fungi, 
• patients with eczematous external otitis with eardrum perforation, 
• patients with ulcers,
• patients with burns or frostbites.

Important information

Do not apply this medicine to the eyes. If the medicine accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse it off with water and consult with your doctor. 

If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
