Levofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic with broad spectrum of activity. It is effective against over 800 strains of bacterial infections, including infections in the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and abdominal tracts. Levofloxacin inhibits the growth of bacteria, destroys the bacterial DNA and rapidly eliminates bacteria.
First indication of Levofloxacin is treatment of pneumonia and respiratory tract infections. It is particularly effective against Streptococcus pneumoniae, an important respiratory pathogen. Secondly, levofloxacin works against all members of Enterobacteriaceae, leading to its wide use for bacterial abdominal infections.

How to use
Adult should receive one intravenous drip a day for 60 minutes. Your doctor may adjust the dosage according to your age and symtoms.
