What are Ketotifen capsules 1 mg Nichi-Iko for asthma and allergies?

Ketotifen capsules contain a fumarate sodium of ketotifen, a cycloheptathiophene derivative. It works by blocking histamine H1 receptors selectively and preventing the common symptoms of histamine release. Ketotifen capsules also inhibit the release inflammatory mediators by mast cells that are involved in hypersensitivity reactions. 

Ketotifen Nichi-Iko capsules effectively relieve allergic symptoms in patients with bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema/dermatitis, hives and cutaneous pruritus. Ketotifen Nichi-iko is generally safe and well-tolerated.

How to take

Adults should take one capsule (1 mg of active principle), 2 times a day, after breakfast and before bedtime.

Your doctor can adjust the dosage depending on your age, disease and symptoms.

Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with epilepsy or a history of it. 

Important information

Avoid driving a car, working at heights or operating hazardous machinery while taking this medicine. Avoid taking alcohol while taking this medicine.

This drug is not designed to relieve bronchial asthma attacks immediately. Patient should use an inhaler or other sufficient treatment in case of emergency.

If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
