What is Gentacin ointment (antibiotic)?
Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It works by negatively impacting protein synthesis of bacterial ribosome and inhibiting bacterial growth. This is an antibiotic of broad spectrum, it can be used for both primary and secondary bacterial infections and infections that have not responded to other topical antibiotic agents.
Gentamicin ointment is effective for the topical treatment of following:
- impetigo contagiosa,
- superficial folliculitis,
- ecthyma,
- furunculosis,
- sycosis barbae,
- pyoderma gangrenosum,
- infectious eczematoid dermatitis,
- pustular acne,
- pustular psoriasis,
- infected seborrheic dermatitis,
- infected contact dermatitis (including poison ivy),
- infected excoriations,
- bacterial superinfections of fungal or viral infections.
Active principles: gentamicin sulfate 0.1%
Amount: 10 tubes * 10 g

How to use
Apply the ointment on the affected area, 1-4 times a day. Application via gauze is also possible.
Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
