Gabapen tablets 200 mg for epilepsy (Gabapentin, Neurontin)
What are Gabapen tablets 200 mg for epilepsy?
The active principle of Gabapen tablets is gabapentin, a derivative of gamma-aminobutyric ccid (GABA). It decreases calcium inflow and increases brain GABA levels to support nerve function. Gabapentin is able to cross the blood-brain border and enter the central nervous systems much more efficiently than GABA.
Gabapen tablets can be used to treat partial seizures in epilepsy. Gabapentin was found to be safe, well-tolerated, and effective in treating partial seizures of epilepsy. Studies showed that gabapentin decreased seizure frequency by at least 50% for 76% of patients, and made patients seizure-free in 46.4%.
