Furosemide tablets 10 mg for hypertension (diuretic, Frusemide, Lasix)
What are Furosemide tablets (10 mg) for hypertension (diuretic, Lasix)?
Furosemide is a loop diuretic medication. It works by inhibiting Na and Cl reabsorption within the renal tubule, by this, causing more sodium, chloride and potassium to remain in the urine. By decreasing the amount of fluid in the body, Furosemide tablets reduce the blood flow and lower blood pressure.
Furosemide tablets are effective for the treatment of hypertension, including malignant hypertension, edema caused by cardiac/renal/hepatic/peripheral vascular disorder, oliguria due to acute or chronic renal failure, and for promoting excretion of urinary calculi. This well-known preparation is effective in treating edema. It allows most patients to achieve edema-free status and others to maintain a steady weight with minimal fluid retention.
