What are Feburic (Uloric) tablets 20 mg for gout?
The active principle of Feburic tablets is febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works in a completely different way from allopurinol, so Feburic tablets can be used for patients who cannot tolerate allopurinol or failed treatment with it. Feburic tablets inhibit the activity of xanthineoxidase, an enzyme involved in the formation of uric acids. As the result, this medicine significantly reduces blood uric acid level and helps to treat hyperuricemia and gout.
