What are Farom tablets (antibiotic, Faromu, faropenem) 150 mg?
The active principle of Farom tablets is faropenem, a beta-lactam antibiotic of penem group. It works by inhibiting proliferation of bacteria. Farom tablets provide antimicrobial effect to the wide range of bacteria, being a popular choice among Japanese doctors for the last 20 years. Typically this medicine is used for the treatment of acute bacterial sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections and urinary tract infections. However, depending on patient's disease and symptoms, these tablets can be used for a broad spectrum of infections.

Indications:
- pneumonia or lung abscess,
- bladder inflammation (excluding uncomplicated one),
- pyelonephritis,
- prostatitis (both acute and chronic),
- epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis),
- otitis media,
- sinusitis,
- uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections,
- tonsillitis,
- intrauterine infection,
- acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
How to take
For pneumonia, lung abscess, bladder inflammation (excluding uncomplicated one), pyelonephritis, prostatitis (acute, chronic), epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis), otitis media, sinusitis: adults should take 200-300 mg of the active principle at a time, 3 times a day.
For other indications such as skin infection, tonsillitis, intrauterine infection and bronchitis: adults should take 150-200 mg of the active ingredient at a time, 3 times a day.
In any case, your doctor can adjust the dosage according to your disease, age and symptoms. This medication contains 150 mg of active principle in 1 tablet.
Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with renal disease. Do not use if patient, their parents or their siblings have predisposition for allergic symptoms, such as bronchial asthma, rash and hives.
