What are Fareston 40 mg tablets for breast cancer?
The active principle of Fareston tablets is toremifene citrate, a selective estrogen receptor modulator. It reduces estrogen activity in breast cancer cells, prevents estrogen signals from reaching breast cancer cells and inhibits cancer cell growth. Fareston tablets also significantly reduce breast pain and can be used to lessen the need for pain-killers.

This medication is particularly effective for women in postmenopausal period with estrogen receptor-positive and unknown-status breast cancers.
