What is Eclar plaster 20 mcg/cm2?
Eclar plaster is a topical steroid medication. Its active principle, deprodone propionate, is a corticosteroid hormone. It helps to reduce the inflammation and to relive such symptoms as itching or swelling. Eclar plaster is often used in Japan for treating and preventing keloids and scars, especially for younger patients who undergone the surgery.

Indications:
- eczema or dermatitis,
- insect bites,
- prurigo,
- psoriasis,
- palmoplantar pustulosis,
- scars or keloids,
- lichen and granuloma.
How to use
Clean and dry the affected area before use. Cut the plaster to the appropriate size, considering a single dose. Peel off the film and apply the plaster to the affected area. Renew every 12 or 24 hours, washing and dry the affected area before each reapplying. If needed, the plaster may be used only at night.
Contraindications: do not use for the following patients:
- pregnant or breastfeeding women,
- patients with skin infection caused by bacteria or fungi,
- patients with skin diseases caused by insects (scabies, hair lice, etc.),
- patients with eczematous external otitis with eardrum perforation,
- patients with ulcer,
- patients with burn, frostbite or leaked lesions of serum.
Important information
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
