Eclar cream 0.3% for itching or swelling (deprodone propionate)
What is Eclar cream 0.3% for itching or swelling (deprodone propionate)?
Eclar cream with deprodone propionate is a topical medication classified as a steroid preparation with potent anti-inflammatory properties. Its mechanism of action primarily revolves around the suppression of inflammation, making it an effective treatment option for various dermatological conditions characterized by symptoms such as itching and swelling. This medication contains deprodone propionate, which is a corticosteroid known for its ability to modulate the immune response and reduce the release of inflammatory mediators.
When applied topically to the affected skin, Eclar cream with deprodone propionate penetrates the epidermis and exerts its anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the activation of immune cells and reducing the production of cytokines and other inflammatory molecules. This leads to a decrease in the localized inflammation, which is a hallmark of conditions like eczema/dermatitis, drug rash, insect bites, prurigo, psoriasis, erythroderma, erythema, palmoplantar pustulosis, purpura, and alopecia areata.
