What is Diclofenac sodium tape 30 mg for pain and inflammation (Cataflam, Voltaren, Zipsor)?
Diclofenac sodium in a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. It suppresses prostaglandin synthesis and reduces pain and inflammation. As it has high lipid solubility, topical application is effective for the treatment even in muscles and joints.
Diclofenac sodium cream is used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, shoulder periarthritis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, peritendinitis, humeral epicondylitis, muscular pain, posttraumatic swelling and pain. For patients with osteoarthritis, topical application of diclofenac is as effective as an oral one, but with fewer systemic side effects.
While for harder-to-reach places it may be easier to used the cream, we recommend the tape form for broader areas covered with clothes, as the tape prevents active ingredient from contact with fabric and does not make clothes dirty.

Indications:
- osteoarthritis,
- shoulder periarthritis,
- tendinitis and tenosynovitis,
- peritendinitis,
- humeral epicondylitis (tennis elbow etc.),
- muscular pain (muscular and/or fascial low back pain etc.),
- posttraumatic swelling and/or pain.
How to use
Peel off the plastic sheet and apply to the affected area once a day.
Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with an aspirin-induced asthma or a history of it and patients with bronchial asthma.
Important information
Avoid applying to injured area, mucous membrane, area with eczema or rash.
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
