What are Cytotec tablets 200 mcg for gastric and duodenal ulcer?

Cytotec tablets are effective for the treatment of peptic and duodenal ulcers, particularly, for the treatment of ulcers caused by long-time administration of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Their active principle is misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin. It suppresses gastric acid secretion and protects gastric mucosa.

How to take

Adults should take 1 tablet (200 mcg of the active principle) at a time, 4 times a day, after each meal and before bedtime.Your doctor may adjust the dosage according to your age or symptoms

Contraindications: do not use for pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Important information

This medicine is known to induce uterine contraction and premature birth or birth defects. Make sure you're not pregnant and use an adequate contraception while taking this medicine.
