What are Cymbalta capsules 30 mg for depression and depressive states (duloxetine hydrochloride)?
The active principle of Cymbalta capsules is duloxetine hydrochloride, a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It increases the available serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain and improves intracerebral neurotransmission. As the result, Cymbalta capsules improve depressive mood, anxiety and loss of motivation in patients with major depression and depressive states.

How to take
Adults should start taking 20 mg of duloxetine once a day after breakfast. After taking 20 mg daily for one week or more, the dosage is increased to standard of 40 mg daily. If the effect is still insufficient, your doctor may increase the dosage up to maximum of 60 mg a day, after taking 40 mg dosage for one week or longer.
Contraindications: do not use for the following patients:
- pregnant or breastfeeding women,
- patients with hepatic disorder,
- patients with renal disorder,
- patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
Use with caution in elderly patients.
Important information
Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly if not instructed to do so by your doctor.
Avoid taking alcohol and any food or supplement containing St. John's wort while you take this medicine.
These tablets may cause dizziness. Do not drive a car, work at heights or operate dangerous machinery while you're taking them. Elderly patients should take precautions not to fall.
If a patient or their family notice any unusual behavior, e.g. panic attacks or insomnia, they should consult with their doctor.
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
