Cefotax injections 1 g for bacterial infections (cefotaxime, cephem antibiotic)
What are Cefotax injections 1 g for bacterial infections (cefotaxime, cephem antibiotic)?
Cefotax injections are prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including blood-borne, respiratory, urinary tract, biliary tract and gynecologic infection. Their active principle is cefotaxime sodium, a sodium salt form of cefotaxime, beta-lactam, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefotax injections inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell wall, weaken the bacterial cell wall and cause the cell lysis. Unlike many other beta-lactams, including penicillin and amoxicillin, cefotaxime is resistible to beta-lactamase degradation, which makes its spectrum of activity significantly broader.
Cefotax injections are effective for the treatment of pneumonia, gonorrhea, endometritis, peritonitis, meningitis and many other diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Suitable for both adults and children.
