What are Donepezil (Fasudil) tablets for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease?
Donepezil hydrochloride is a medication of cholinesterase inhibitor class. It inhibits an enzyme that inhibits the nerve connections of the brain. As the result, Donepezil hydrochloride tablets help to delay the progress of dementia symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease or Lewy body dementia and improve such symptoms as:
- memory,
- attention,
- the ability to interact with others,
- speaking,
- thinking clearly,
- performing regular daily activities.

Indications: delaying progression of dementia symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease or Lewy body dementia
How to take
Adults should start with 1 tablet (3 mg of active ingredient) at a time, once a day for 1-2 weeks. Then increase the dosage to 5 mg at a time, once a day, for at least 4 weeks. If needed, after that the dosage may be increased to maximum of 10 mg at a time, once a day. The dosage may be decreased according to the age or symptoms of the patient. These tablets contain 3 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet.
Contraindications: do not use for the following people:
- patients with heart diseases such as sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block,
- patients with Parkinson's disease or syndrome,
- patients with a history of gastric or duodenal ulcer, bronchial asthma or obstructive lung disease,
- pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Important information
Prevent patients taking this medicine from driving a car, working at heigths or operating dangerous machinery.
If an allergic reaction occurs, patient needs to stop using the medicine and consult with their doctor. If patient is taking any other medication or treatment, they should consult with their doctor in advance.
