What are Biobran Immunomodulator tablets?

The main indication for use of Biobran is the treatment of patients with metastatic tumors before, during, and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Its active principle, arabinoxylan, can significantly reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, including nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and hair loss. Biobran tablets help to increase the appetite, to stabilize the mood and to improve the quality of sleep. The most effectiveness is achieved in treating such tumors as leukemia and multiple myeloma, lymphomas, prostate cancer, breast cancer and ovarian cancer. 

Also, Biobran tablets are used for patients with destruction of liver enzymes due to hepatitis B (NK-cells destroy the cells infected with hepatitis B virus), in chronic fatigue after viral infections (with the possible elimination of infected EBV and CMV cells) and HIV infection. Patients with recurrent viral infections with intracellular viral persistence such as Herpes simples, Herpes zoster, EBV can perform 2-month course of Biobran, if treatment with other drugs does not give the desired results. For patients with allergic reactions, arabinoxylan inhibits degranulation of mast cells, reducing the symptoms of allergy. Biobran tablets improve glucose tolerance, providing a positive effect on the patients with diabetes or risk for diabetes, although it is not a substitute for insulin. Biobran helps to prevent a number of diseases in healthy humans (flu, bacterial, viral diseases seasonal), reduce the risk of cancer and allergic reactions and to speed the  recovery from existing diseases by strengthening the immune system.

Indications:

• treatment of patients with metastatic tumors before, during, and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy,
• hepatitis B and hepatitis C,
• diabetes or risk of it,
• allergy,
• recurrent viral infections with intracellular viral persistence such as Herpes simples, Herpes zoster, EBV,
• HIV infection,
• increasing immunity in healthy subjects.

How to take

Biobran should be taken 30 min after a meal, daily dose should be divided into three portions and taken after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The recommended daily intake should be 30-45 mg / kg / day (3.2 g daily), maximum efficiency at lower activity of natural killer cells (NK-cells) is usually achieved after 1-2 months, then it is possible to reduce the dose to15 mg / kg / day (1 g daily). For general health maintenance the recommended dose is not less than 500 mg daily. Patients with diabetes, as well as hepatitis B and C and other infections, are advised to take 1000 mg per day, and with cancer and AIDS - 3 g per day for two months, followed by transfer to 1 g per day.

Contraindications: Do not use for patients with immunosuppressive therapy, poor digestibility, celiac disease, intolerance to arabinose and xylose. Due to immunomodulatory effects requires caution when used for patients with autoimmune diseases.
