What are Biltricide tablets 600 mg for parasitic diseases (parasitic worm infections, praziquantel)?
Biltricide tablets contain praziquantel, an oral antiparasitic drug. It works by increasing the permeability of the membranes of parasitic cells towards calcium ions, inducing the contraction of the parasites' muscle, resulting in paralysis and death. Biltricide tablets are generally safe, well-tolerated and can be used against a broad spectrum of parasites, including such parasitic diseases as liver fluke disease, lung fluke disease, Metagonimus yokogawai disease, all species of schistosoma and Taenia saginata (beef tapeworm). This medicine’s action is rapid and effective, the usual course of treatment last for 1-2 days as praziquantel’s high level in blood plasma lasts for a long period.

Indications: treatment of the parasitic diseases, including following:
- liver fluke disease,
- lung fluke disease,
- Metagonimus yokogawai disease,
- Taenia saginata (beef tapeworm),
- Schistosomiasis etc.
How to take
For liver fluke disease, lung fluke disease: take 20 mg of the active ingredient per kg of weight at a time, twice a day for 2 days.
For Metagonimus yokogawai disease: take 20 mg of the active ingredient per kg of weight at a time, once or twice a day for 1 day.
Please note that this preparation contains 600 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet.
Contraindications: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with cysticercosis cellulosae (pork tapeworm), renal dysfunction, liver dysfunction or arrhythmia.
