Bilanoa tablets 20 mg for rhinitis, eczema, dermatitis and pruritus (bilastine)
What are Bilanoa tablets 20 mg for rhinitis, eczema, dermatitis and pruritus (bilastine)?
Bilanoa tablets contain the active ingredient bilastine, which is an antihistamine medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, urticaria (hives), and pruritus (itching of the skin) related to various skin diseases such as eczema and dermatitis. The mechanism of action of bilastine lies in its ability to antagonize histamine receptors, particularly the H1 receptor subtype. Histamine is a key mediator in the inflammatory response and allergic reactions, leading to symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, hives, and skin itching.
Bilastine works by binding to H1 receptors on various cells, including those in the nasal mucosa, skin, and gastrointestinal tract. By doing so, it prevents histamine from binding to these receptors, thereby reducing the downstream effects of histamine release. This inhibition results in the alleviation of allergic symptoms, as it reduces the vascular permeability, smooth muscle contraction, and itchiness associated with histamine activation.
In clinical trials, Bilanoa tablets have demonstrated effectiveness in providing relief from the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and hives. Patients have reported reduced nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and rhinorrhea when treated with bilastine. Additionally, individuals suffering from pruritus associated with eczema, dermatitis, and other skin diseases have experienced a decrease in skin itching upon the administration of Bilanoa tablets.
