Atarax-P capsules 25 mg (hydroxyzine pamoate, Vistaril)
What are Atarax-P capsules?
Atarax-P capsules contain hydroxyzine pamoate, a potent and selective reverse histamine H1 receptor agonist. It acts as an antihistamine and sedative. Unlike many other first-generation antihistamines, hydroxyzine has almost no effect on muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and therefore rarely causes anticholinergic side effects.
Atarax-P capsules are prescribed for two different groups of conditions. First, this medicine is effective in reducing itching and urticaria caused by allergic reactions or skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis. Second, Atarax-P capsules are effective in treating neurosis, depression, tension and anxiety.
